New Illustrated Collection: For Love of Matisse

This collection honours the great Henri Matisse. As an art history major and self declared art nerd, how could I not look to the master for inspiration?

Creating beautiful brands, stationary, invitations or what have you can be a LOT of work. I know from personal experience, how frustrating it can be to have an idea and struggle to bring it to life, whether I lacked the skills or the patience.

This is why I’ve decided to create watercolour graphics collections. I’ve been asked numerous times if I could design a friend’s brand or invitations. In my case, these are skills I’ve spent years developing but not everyone has the time or the desire to do so. (No judgement here at all - we all have different things to contribute to the world!)

How You Can Use this Collection

This collection consists of over 70 individual elements that you can use to design your own projects such as:

  • website design accents

  • prints

  • collages

  • products

  • branding (logos, business cards, etc.)

  • packaging design

  • cards

  • stationary and invitations

With this collection, I hope to facilitate your creative process and help you channel the creative spirit of one of the world's most renowned artists.

How It Works

When you purchase this collection, you will receive a zip folder with all the individual files of watercolour illustrations. Each illustration has been scanned at a high resolution and cleaned to make it as easy as drag and drop into your project files. They are all saved as PNG files with transparent backgrounds, meaning you don’t have to worry about a white box of space getting in the way of your work!

Each purchase also comes with a license that gives you permission to use the art in various ways. Don’t worry - it’s not complicated or full of confusing jargon!

A Little About My Inspiration: Matisse

During the last decade of his life, Matisse could not create art in the same manner as he once did due to his declining health. He began to create by painting paper and cutting out shapes. He "painted" with scissors. These shapes were seemingly simple yet expressive, distilling the world around him to a few lines and colours. Using scissors and gouache, he created a magical world of plants, animals, figures and shapes.
